Property tax rates

Each year, the municipality sets the property tax rates applicable to all properties on its territory. These rates are calculated on the basis of tax ratios determined by the United Counties, which are then forwarded to the municipality for adoption. These ratios take into account various factors, including property category, to ensure a fair distribution of the tax burden.

These documents provide a clear overview of changes in rates and help taxpayers better understand their municipal bill.

The municipal council wishes to inform citizens that a 7% increase will be applied to the municipal portion of the property tax rate starting in 2025. This measure is necessary to enable the Municipality to continue offering quality services while maintaining the maintenance of its infrastructures and meeting the growing needs of the population.

This increase is intended to :

  • Deal with rising costs related to day-to-day operations (road maintenance, waste collection, snow removal, etc.).
  • Ensure adequate funding for essential services such as public safety and recreational services.
  • Support investment in community infrastructure and equipment improvement projects.

It's important to note that this increase only affects the municipal portion of your property tax bill. Other portions, such as school taxes and regional service charges, remain unchanged.

The municipal council remains committed to rigorous and transparent management of public finances, and thanks all citizens for their understanding and cooperation in the sustainable and responsible development of our community.

Penalties and interest

It is the responsibility of each taxpayer to ensure that payment is received at our offices by the due date indicated. Interest charges of 1.25% per month will be added to unpaid balances from the beginning of each month.
