NOTICE OF
PUBLIC MEETING
for
PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
(75 Concession Road 9, Verdonck)
TAKE NOTICE: The Township of East Hawkesbury has received a Zoning By-law Amendment application which was deemed to be a complete application May 25 2026.
AND TAKE NOTICE: The Council of the Corporation of the Township of East Hawkesbury will hold a public meeting on August 10, 2026 commencing at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 5151 County Road 14, St-Eugène to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act.
TAKE NOTICE: The Township has received an application to amend the Zoning By-law as described in the Explanatory Note below.
TAKE NOTICE: If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of East Hawkesbury to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Council of the Township of East Hawkesbury before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Township to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
TAKE NOTICE: If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Council of the Township of East Hawkesbury before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
TAKE NOTICE: The subject lands are subject to a provisionally approved Consent application (B-083-2025) under Section 51(24) of the Planning Act which has been reviewed by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
TAKE NOTICE: If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Council of the Township of East Hawkesbury on the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to:

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment affects approximately 18.18 ha (44.92 ac) of land located in Part Lot 2, Concession 8, and known municipally as 75 Concession Road 9.
The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to re-zone the subject lands from A1 (Agriculture Type 1) zone to A2 (Agriculture Type 2) zone. The effect of the A2 zoning would be to prohibit future residential development on the subject lands. The severed lot containing the surplus farm dwelling would continue to be zoned A1. The zoning amendment is required in fulfillment of a condition of final approval for a surplus farm dwelling severance application (B-083-2025).
