Building Permit Check List

The information required to obtain a building permit include, but may not be limited to:
 
a.) Building permit application fully completed
 
b.) Declaration of applicant for permit regarding the New Home Warranties Plan Act
 
c.) Two copies of construction drawings of the building. Note: All design documentation must include the designer’s BCIN #, P. Eng. Stamp or Architect’s Stamp to be accepted.
 
d.) Two copies of the site plan. Distances to adjacent land uses may be required. The Minimum Distance Separation Formulae (MDS) is applicable between livestock operations and other development.
 
e.) Details of the heating system.(ie: Electric, Oil or Gas, Forced Air or Radiant, etc.)
 
f.) Form for Residential Mechanical Ventilation Design Detail fully completed.
 
g.) One copy of the septic system report Eastern Ontario Health Unit

i.) Payment of applicable Building Permit Fees and Performance Deposit
 
j.) NOTE: Due to the location of some properties it may be necessary for the applicant to have the flood plain contour located by an Ontario Land Surveyor and also provide a soils report by an engineer to determine foundation requirements.
